Registration Success!

Dear Great Lakes YEN Field Day Attendee:

Thank you for your registration for the first-ever Great Lakes YEN summer field day!  We will plan to meet you all at the Michigan State University Saginaw Valley Research & Extension Center, 3775 S. Reese Rd., Frankenmuth, MI.

We appreciate your support as we launch into more programming to support the Network portion of the Great Lakes Yield Enhancement Network. We are hoping there will be enough interest that we can make this an annual event. Unfortunately, this is not an event that we had previously or financially planned for, so we are asking attendees to pick up their hotel costs. We will pick up meal costs and transportation if you choose to car pool during the event.

Registration check-in and lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. and run until we head to the field at 1:00 p.m. We will be joined by MSU and Ontario researchers and experts. We will walk the fields together looking at research plots and discussing their projects. These projects were selected because of their linkage to the areas that arose from the farmer reports and wrap up meetings.

We will then head to the Jeff Krohn farm to tour and have more discussion wrapping up the night with a catered dinner. On Tuesday, June 20, we will start with breakfast and an industry tour at Star of the West and then head to more farmers’ fields. At the wrap up of day two, attendees may choose to head back to the Bavarian Inn for a second night or head home.  

Reservations can be made until June 8, in our room block by calling: 1-855-652-7200 and referencing our group number: 13M9CR. A credit card guarantee is required at the time a reservation is made at which time it will be charged for the first night’s stay plus tax.

Standard rooms are available with two double beds. Premium rooms have one king bed or two queen beds with a balcony & river view. Suites are also available. All rooms include a refrigerator, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and complimentary WIFI throughout the hotel & banquet center.

Rates are per night for up to four guests in each room; rates are subject to 6% state sales tax and 7% occupancy tax/city assessment. The Bavarian Inn Lodge will apply a $29.95 daily resort fee to all reservations.
