The spring-like weather of early February reminds us that the 2024 growing season is coming quickly. Before we know it, wheat will be greening up and headed for harvest.
But you still have time to attend the Michigan Wheat Program’s 12th Annual Winter Grower Meeting! It takes place Weds., Feb. 21, beginning at 8:15 a.m. with registration at the Eagle Eye Conference Center, 15500 Chandler Rd., in Bath.
Registration, continental breakfast and industry exhibits begin at 8:15 am, and the formal program starts at 9 and runs through 3:30 p.m.
The highlight of this year’s agenda is keynote presenter “Wheat Pete” Johnson from Ontario, a popular presenter with the Michigan wheat crowd. Johnson is making two presentations as noted in the agenda below.
“Wheat Pete and the Pennington Production Palooza” features an open discussion and dialogue with growers about wheat production recommendations and learnings from the Great Lakes Yield Enhancement Network (YEN) that includes Canadian and Michigan wheat producers.
