  • Plant Disease Identification Station. Participants invited to bring wheat samples for diagnosis of disease or injury, Dr. Jan Byrne, MSU Diagnostic Services

9:00 a.m. — Welcome and Introductions, Jeff Krohn, MI Wheat Program Chairman

9:10 a.m. — Morning Plot Presentations via wagon tour  (20 minute stops)

  • Status Update: Wheat Disease, Dr. Marty Chilvers
  • Fusarium Head Blight Trial, Dr. Eric Olson
  • Expectations for 2023 Harvest, Dennis Pennington

10:45 a.m. — Morning Plot Presentations Round Two via Wagon Tour

  • Soil Fertility: More Inputs or the Right Inputs, Dr. Kurt Steinke & Lane Suplito
  • Wheat Agronomy, Manni Singh & Patrick Copeland
  • Weed Control, Dr. Christy Sprague

12:10 p.m. Lunch

1:00 p.m. — Walking Tour of Plots at Mason Research Farm

  • Participants drive personal cars and reconvene at: 1614 Okemos Rd., Mason, MI 48854.
  • Park in alleyways at the farm and join the group for a walking tour.
